INSIGHT-CPR team members organize recognition event for survivors of sudden cardiac arrest
On the evening of June 3, the University of Michigan Health Frankel Cardiovascular Center and Department of Emergency Medicine hosted a special event dedicated to those who have survived a sudden cardiac arrest.
Now in its second year, the U-M Health Survivor Celebration Dinner brought together survivors and their families with the first responders, medical teams, and physicians who played a critical role in the survivors’ outcomes. Altogether, these individuals represent links in the chains of survival that gave these patients the best chance at survival and recovery.
INSIGHT-CPR team members Jennifer Fowler, Dr. Florian Schmitzberger, and Dr. Robert Neumar were part of the committee in charge of organizing the event. INSIGHT-CPR principal investigator Dr. Cindy Hsu and team member Dr. Laura Harding-Jackson were also recognized along with others in each survivor’s chain of survival.
